Jia-Yu (Holly) has earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemical Science & Technology and her Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine from National Taiwan University. She then moved to The Ohio State University where she received her PhD degree in Nutrition Science. Her postdoctoral training took place at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where she did clinical research in the field of nutrition and oncology. Jia-Yu has extensive academic practice in the fields of nutrition, nutraceuticals, metabolism, obesity, and breast cancer. She has collaborated with interdisciplinary groups to investigate how nutritional supplements (phytochemicals and omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids) affect menopause-associated metabolic disturbances and breast cancer in preclinical models (cell and mouse) and clinical settings. Her extensive knowledge and skills in nutritional sciences provides her with strong credentials to support researchers with their study design and diet formulation.
