I received my Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences from Rutgers University in 2000, where I studied leptin secretion from human adipose tissue with Susan K. Fried, Ph.D., after which I did postdoctoral research with Barry E. Levin, MD at the VA Medical Center in East Orange, NJ where I studied the development of diet-induced obesity in selectively-bred strains of Sprague-Dawley rats. I am fortunate to have worked with these two wonderful scientists and mentors. In the 19 years since joining Research Diets in 2001, I have again been fortunate as I helped to grow the science department and our company into the strongest in the industry. Discussing research with our customers, formulating new diets, traveling to attend conferences/give presentations around the world and of course working with my fantastic colleagues are what make my job fun and fulfilling. Outside of work, my family, being outdoors, cycling and playing guitar keep me grounded.
