Qing earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in Nutrition and Food Science from Wayne State University. In addition, she received her M.P.H. in Public Health Methods in Urban Health from the same university. During her doctoral studies, she investigated the effects of probiotics on short-chain fatty acid metabolism and gut microbiota within a high-fat diet (D12492) induced obesity mouse model. She has a broad range of experience in how high-fat diet-induced obesity and diabetes affects the gut microbiome. Dr. Ai’s extensive knowledge and skills in nutrition, biology, and food science provide her with strong credentials to support researchers with their study design and diet formulation needs.
