Sara Sturgess earned her M.S. in Nutritional Sciences at Rutgers University, where she worked with Susan K. Fried, Ph.D., studying mouse models of obesity and insulin resistance. She is also a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist. She coordinated several clinical trials, including glucose clamp studies, at the Medical University of South Carolina with W. Timothy Garvey, M.D. Sara then worked for two years right here at Research Diets before moving to The University of Maryland School of Medicine and becoming the first Program Manager for the Mid-Atlantic Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC). After 10 years with the Mid-Atlantic NORC and the cultivation of a broad range of experience in nutrition and obesity research under the leadership of Alan Shuldiner, M.D., Sara is delighted to rejoin her colleagues at Research Diets. Her background, experience and skill set provide strong credentials and a distinct perspective to help researchers with their study design and diet formulation needs.
